*On average, 47% of our screen time is accidental scrolling

The report „Age of Autopilot" University of Cambridge (2026)

*95 minutes a day spent in continuous video loops

Interaction 1: When the algorithm detects a high-speed, continuous scrolling pattern (indicative of doomscrolling), the text on the screen dynamically fades out. To make the text visible again, the user must slow down and return to the previous position. We went through multiple iterations to ensure the fade-out effect feels organic and non-intrusive.

Interaction 2: Instead of automatically playing the next short-form video, the extension introduces a deliberate pause between pieces of content. After a user finishes watching a reel, the feed is interrupted and the front-facing camera briefly activates, allowing users to see themselves before deciding whether to continue scrolling. This moment of self-reflection is designed to break automatic consumption patterns and encourage more intentional engagement.

Developed in Cursor. Motion design created in After Effects.
